In the past decade, PROTOform’s original Mazda6 race body and its successor, Mazdaspeed6, have stood out as the dominant force in electric touring car, scoring wins at a combined three IFMAR ISTC World Championships and countless other international events. When Mazda’s SKYACTIV-D GX Class Race Car dominated the 2014 Grand-Am series, we knew it was the perfect heir to the throne in 1/10 Electric Touring Car.

This is the race body you’ve been waiting for: the officially licensed Mazda6 GX from PROTOform. Capturing all the details from the full-scale racer, the GX’s striking lines, hood air extractors and signature Mazda grille give it an unmistakable look, showing that form can indeed coalesce with function.

The Mazda6 GX is proving to be a contender right out of the box. Initial testing on asphalt from Team PROTOform drivers and ISTC World Champions Marc Rheinard and Jilles Groskamp has them raving: “Great steering but the rear end also has stability,” Marc said after using a Mazda6 GX to win the 2013 Bangkok Int’l RC Championship in its first race ever, “Overall great traction. I love it.” Reigning champ Groskamp had this to say: “The GX seems to have the steering of the LTC-R and stability of the Mazdaspeed6! Overall lap times matched the LTC-R right away but the GX just drives really easy!”

“The GX eliminates the need to mount your body so far forward since it has the right amount of steering built right in,” said Paul Lemieux, Team PROTOform driver and multiple-time ROAR champion, after testing on carpet. “I recommend mounting it centered with the Pro-TC high-downforce wing. Gives a ton of grip, especially in mid-speed infield sections.”

All specifications of the Mazda6 GX are within the Global Body Spec requirements, including those specs of IFMAR, ROAR, EFRA, BRCA, JMRCA, FEMCA, and FAMAR. It is available in both light (.025") and regular (.030") weight genuine Lexan® and comes with a detailed decal sheet, window masks, overspray film and wing mounting hardware.
